Free Google Drive with Chromebook - is that still a thing?

A while ago, I bought a phone and received 100GB of Google Drive space. It is about to expire, and I am using 40GB. I only have 19GB for free. So, I need to buy some storage space - I was thinking 100GB for $2 per month.

But, if I can get 100GB of free space with a purchase of a Chromebook, maybe I can just do that. Oppo, do you know if any Chromebook qualifies for this promotion, or just some models? Also, is the 100GB free forever, or just for a year?

**Just realized I have 40GB of empty space on OneDrive, and 50GB on Box.com. I think I might hold off on buying anything. Google is very convenient though, I could just dump everything from Dropbox in there and be set for $2 per month.

Quick question: do you actually need a Chromebook? Because it would be cheaper to pay month to month.

But then you have to carry it around with you, and you can’t share files as easily.

I’m not sure what the current promotions for Chromebooks are, but the one I got two years ago came with three years of 100gb Drive space. I basically have Drive running continuously between phone upgrades and refreshed Chromebook buys.

Nope, don’t need one. I’ll probably end up paying $2 per month for 100GB. But, if 100GB is mine for life if I buy a Chromebook, I might buy one and resell it down the road.

You’ll have storage for 2 years, starting on the date you redeem the offer. Accessing online files requires an internet connection. This offer is tied to your device and is non-transferable. If this device is returned, extra storage will be revoked. Offer must be redeemed within 180 days of your device activation. Offer is available in all countries where Google Drive is available. Offer can only be redeemed once per device. Used, open-box, and refurbished devices are not eligible for the offer.

Seems like it’s not a for life offer, so if you think it’s worth buying a chromebook for 2 years worth of storage? then go for it

Thanks! I probably won’t buy one, I have a Dell XPS 13 which is very mobile anyway, a large screen phone (6+S), so it would make more sense to just buy Google drive for $24 per year.
